Experience the energy of live street performance at the Cooktown Discovery Festival Busking Competition.
Held along Charlotte Street, this all-day event brings together talented performers from across the region — from emerging young artists to seasoned entertainers — all competing for cash prizes and crowd support.
Who Can Enter
Junior: 12–17 years
Open: 18+
All performances must be PG rated, with no offensive or inappropriate content.

Winners are decided by people’s choice voting on the day. Come along and support your favourite acts!
How It Works
- Performers will busk at the designated Buskers Area on the corner of Charlotte St and Furneaux St on Saturday 20 June 2026
- All performers will be allocated a set performance time
- All performers must check in and introduce themselvelves 20 minutes prior to thier performance
- Festival attendees vote for their favourite acts throughout the day
- Cash prizes to be won in each category
Finalists & Performances
Winners from each category will be invited to perform on the main stage at the Festival Village on Saturday afternoon, as part of the festival program.
