Cook Shire’s Got Talent
In the lead-up to the Cooktown Discovery Festival, Cook Shire’s Got Talent takes centre stage as a pre-festival event celebrating the creativity and confidence of young performers across the region.
Young performers are encouraged to step into the spotlight and showcase their talents in a fun and supportive environment. From singing and dancing to comedy, magic and everything in between—if they’ve got a talent, we want to see it.
Winners will then earn the opportunity to perform LIVE on the main stage at the Cooktown Discovery Festival, showcasing their talents in front of festival crowds as part of one of the region’s biggest events.
Who Can Enter
Open to young people aged 5–25 years, currently residing in Cook Shire.
All acts must be PG rated, with no offensive or inappropriate content.
What Can You Perform?
Any type of talent is welcome, including:
- Singing
- Dancing
- Musical performances
- Comedy
- Magic
- Unique or creative acts

Entry Fees
Group Performance — $10 per group + booking fee
Age Categories
5 – 11 years
12 – 17 years
18 – 25 years
Note:
If an act includes multiple performers, it will be placed in the age category of the oldest participant.
Important Information
All performances must be suitable for a family audience (PG rated)
