Applications are now open for the new Cook Shire’s Got Talent Junior Judge as part of the 2026 Cooktown Discovery Festival.
One passionate young person from the Cook Shire region will have the opportunity to join the official judging panel at Cook Shire’s Got Talent 2026 and help select this year’s winning performers.
Held at the Cooktown Events Centre on Friday 5 June 2026, Cook Shire’s Got Talent is a popular youth talent competition featuring singing, dancing, music, comedy, magic acts and more from talented young performers across the region.
The Junior Judge opportunity encourages youth leadership, confidence and community involvement while giving young people the chance to experience a live entertainment event from behind the judges’ table.
Parents and carers are encouraged to support young people who are passionate about community events, performing arts and supporting local talent.
Junior Judge applications close Friday 29 May 2026. To apply, applicants must email mail@cook.qld.gov.au in 200 words or less explaining why they would make a great Junior Judge.
Applicants must be school-aged, confident sharing respectful and constructive feedback, and excited to be part of an unforgettable community event.
